Podcast with Women are the Medicine

Women are the Medicine  have launched a Podcast with Miche Fabre Lewin and her HeArt Centred Liberation practice. Co- founder Nasreen El- Mariesh explores the genesis and context of Miche’s liberation work dedicated to ending systemic racism and white body  supremacy.  In small groups of people racialised as ‘white’,  the work with art and ritual is to explore, uncover and release from internalised patterns and behaviours as foundational for dismantling racism.

Podcast: Loosening the Warp

Loosening the Warp Retreats

Within the granite and moorland energies of Karuna Dartmoor, during 2024 & 2025, Miche offered 2 Retreats for people racialised as ‘white’  who are committed to ending racism by addressing white body supremacy. Within a small group, in generous witness of each other,  an ecology of justice practices based in artful, earth-centred processes were introduced to deepen into inner, self-reflection in service of collective liberation.

HeArt of Change with Be the Earth

HeArt of Change is an ecology of justice practices with art and ritual for people racialised as ‘white’ who are dedicated to dismantling white supremacy in service of ending racism. This single identity group work is in solidarity with movements for racial justice and collective liberation. An introductory workshop introduced these liberation practices during Be the Earth  festival at 42 Acres in July 2025.

Tasting Ubuntu with AVReQ & CST

Tasting Ubuntu was a pioneering arts-based Research Residency opening to relational sovereignty and Southern African cosmologies of Ubuntu and Ukama through a cabbage fermentation ritual and a listening circle. This collaboration between Living Justice, the Centre for the Study of the Afterlife of Violence and the Reparative Quest (AVReQ), and the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) at Stellenbosch University opened up conversations to explore the connections between racial justice, food security and the power of art for healing.

Courage & Kinship with BE Hive Cape Winelands

BE Hive Cape Winelands was launched in February 2025 at Boschendal in partnership with Be the Earth in South Africa with a liberation workshop Courage & Kinship. This transformative arts-based workshop introduced a range of justice practices using heart-centred listening processes and earth-based ritual. This day was in support and encouragement of building trust, resilience and accountability towards collective liberation.
