Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience

Collaborator
Supporting the art of collaboration between the global south and north
Since its foundation in 2013, we have been Honourary Research Associates with the pioneering Centre for Agroeoclogy, Water and Resilience (CAWR) at Coventry University, which sits within the Institute for Sustainability, Equity and Resilience (ISER). Art of Collaboration is our on-going international exchange between CAWR and the Centre for Sustainable Transitions (CST) at Stellenbosch University, and the Sustainability Institute, South Africa.  Together, we explore how the arts enable us to know and become-with the world in ways that embody an ethics of connection and care. Art of Collaboration projects have included Pulse week-long exhibition in partnership with GUS Gallery, Stellenbosch Univeristy, and First Know Food, commissioned by CST as part of their ARThropocene programme. Our forthcoming work with the Centre for the Study of the Afterlife of Violence and the Reparative Quest (AVReQ) at Stellenbosch University in 2024, Tasting Ubuntu, will explore how thanks-giving food rituals can contribute to an ethos of living justice.

Your artistic, relational and process-sensitive approach to food as a different modality of intervention and healing will certainly contribute to the work of the Centre for the Study of the Afterlife of Violence and the Reparative Quest (AVReQ).

Professor Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela, Director AVReQ

You are inviting people into processes that allow for a breaking down of barriers. That seems to be the guiding light running through your practice.
